I liked this quote though I am no bible thumper. I think it means that in a truly meaningless universe the idea of meaning could not exist even as a concept. But what meaning could the universe have? No meaning that we could understand would satisfy us but that does not mean it has no meaning. I don't think that there is an old man with a white beard looking down on us. At the same time I have not the vanity to be an atheist. We talk about faith but we don't need to look for it. We are each born with faith or we would never have opened our eyes upon the world in the first place. When dawn comes into our bedrooms we do not need a reason to open our eyes.
